Today is my 33rd birthday. I have had a lot on my mind all month and I hope the following post will add some value to your life and motivate you to stay true to you.
A year ago you could find me at the corner of 1st and Cherry in Downtown Seattle at 7am drinking a 12 oz americano and working on my laptop at Cherry St Coffee. And later at 11pm doing the same thing but in Capitol Hill at Vito’s Coffee. I thought I was living my best life. I was paying my dues to live on my own terms. (I am still paying my dues, even more so now) I found what made me happy was putting in the work and constantly trying to be better each day.
What I have learned in the past year, is that the most important thing you can ever do, is what is right for you.
Doing what is best for you is sometimes the hardest thing because there will be many people, who will not agree with your choices, and it can cause you to second guess yourself. Even YOU will get in your own way of positive change. Certain things take courage but no one knows you better than you know yourself.
One of the biggest things I have learned this past year was to not compare myself to anyone but me. I really believe that every person has personal greatness within themselves, but often times we limit our ourselves by comparing our life to others. The grass is as green as you want to make it.
Happiness is a mindset and a choice. Opportunity is created when you take ownership of your mind and work with purpose.
Always do what is best for you NO MATTER HOW HARD IT IS. A lot can happen in a year, the secret is in the small daily choices.
I am extremely thankful for YOU (reader/listener/friend/family) because you have taken the time to read this and that motivates me. Thank you for cheering me on, and know that I am also cheering you on.
Happy Birthday to me,
Love you guys,
O.
