Celebrating women who influence me.
This morning as I was creating a social media post for a client (on influential women) I started thinking about all the females in my life that constantly influence and motivate me to be better. A lot of names came to mind so I decided to dedicate a little time this Wednesday to shout out a female that I think is cruising it, that influences, and that can motivate you. Her name is Evita Chatterly and she is my older sister.
Why Evita motivates me.
She is a Mother of two, just bought her own home, she carries the weight of her family as her husband just started college, she operates her own small massage spa, and on top of that, she volunteers a lot in her local community, and still finds time to get out and work out.
A little more about my sister. She is a high school drop out, later completed it. She was a single mom for a number of years struggling to make ends meet. She has always been into healing, meditation, and stuff I consider hippy shit, lol. But it is what makes her personality so unique and awesome.
She is always going out of her way to reach out to all our family members just to say hi, invite us to dinner, offer to babysit, or just say hi and chat. You can tell she genuinely cares about her tribe. She also does this with all her clients. I see a lot of them leave her "thank you" letters and/or want to stay and chat with her. She is the kind of person you want around and in your life. She is also latina, so don't piss her off.
She's not a celebrity, She is not rich by any means, she is just a regular woman who hustles, and smiles along the journey, and is thankful for what she has. I think there is a lot to learn from her.
I'm thankful for her and her example. Think about the women in your life that influence you and celebrate that. Let them know how much they mean to you.
Omar.
